Police Auxiliary Officer (Protective Service Officer)

As a Police Auxiliary Officer (Protective Service Officer) you'll be trained to play an important role in protecting key Government and Police sites and the people who work and visit there.

You will be at the frontline and making a real contribution to protecting the community.

You will be entrusted with select policing powers whilst on duty, that will allow you to carry out your protective service role. These powers will include the power to stop, search and detain as well as to carry and use a firearm and taser. 

You will provide essential support to WA Police by undertaking protective security services across a number of important locations, including Parliament House.

Protective Service Officers will be deployed to these metropolitan locations on various shifts. There will be times when you will be busy dealing with the public and seeking to assist them in a friendly and courteous manner. At other times you will be engaged in scanning the environment for potential threats or risks to the location you are on duty to protect.

An ability to remain vigilant and ready to respond is crucial to this role. You will be the public face of protective security for WA Police and playing your part to contribute to keeping our community safe and secure.

Level/Salary - Band 2; $68,661 - $74,320 p.a. A training wage of $50,362 applies during the initial training period.
