Police Auxiliary Officer (Custody Support)

As a Police Auxiliary Officer (Custody Support) you'll be trained to play a crucial support role to Police Officers. While you won't have full policing powers, it's the ideal way to gain invaluable insights and make a real contribution to the community.

You will provide essential support to WA Police Force Officers through the admission, custody and release of detainees in the Perth Watch House and other station based lock-ups. Other duties include managing and handling drugs and firearms, processing property and exhibits and a range of station support tasks.

Am I eligible to apply?

To apply, you must meet the following prerequisites:

You must be an
Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Australian Resident
You must hold a
current Manual 'C' or Automatic 'C-A' class Motor Driver's Licence or equivalent*

* Provisional licences are acceptable, with no more than two demerit points in the first year and five demerit points in the second year, at the application.


Western Australia Police Force as an employer has no tolerance for illicit or illegal drug use, which includes the misuse of prescription and over the counter drugs by an employee, either in their work or private life. All applicants will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing during the recruitment process and throughout employment if appointed.
