WA Police Cadet Program (Not currently recruiting)

Have you ever thought of being a Police Officer, and wondered what it would be like?

Then step forward and get paid while you get a first hand view of the dynamic and exciting world of policing. As a cadet, based in the metropolitan area, you will develop fantastic workplace skills and get a true taste of what it means to be part of the WA Police Force family.

Not only will you receive important job related training from day one, you will also be supported throughout your learning journey, gaining exposure to a range of unique policing activities during your two year cadetship.

If this interests you, and you are:

  • between 16 and 18 years of age (by the application closing date)
  • an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia

Successful applicants will receive a competitive salary of $23,743-$46,104 per year (dependent on age), a police cadet uniform, shift allowances and generous leave entitlements.

Short term regional placements at major centres will be considered on a case by case basis, however, the majority of the placements will be in the metropolitan area.

Western Australia Police Force as an employer has no tolerance for illicit or illegal drug use, which includes the misuse of prescription and over the counter drugs by an employee, either in their work or private life. All applicants will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing during the recruitment process and throughout employment if appointed.
