WA Police Force Aboriginal Cadet Program

Ever thought of being a Police Cadet and making a difference in your community? Want to be paid while you train and earn a nationally accredited qualification? Then be the one to step forward and get a firsthand view of the dynamic and exciting world of policing.
As a cadet, you will develop fantastic workplace skills, under the guidance of experienced Police Officers. You will gain exposure to a range of unique policing activities and get a true taste of what it means to be part of the WA Police Force family.
Not only will you receive important job related training, cadets based in the metropolitan area will also attend formal class based training provided in partnership with North Metropolitan TAFE. You will be supported throughout your learning journey and will have access to mentors to assist you in reaching your career goals.
Regional placements at major centres will be considered on a case by case basis, however the majority of the placements will be in the Perth metropolitan area. Cadets based in regional WA may be required to attend block training throughout their cadetship, with accommodation provided at the WA Police Force Academy.
Limited positions are available, so if you are:
- of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
- 17 to 25 years of age

Successful applicants will receive an initial 12 month contract with a possible extension to 24 months, a competitive salary of $29,211-$47,498 per year (dependent on age), a police cadet uniform, shift allowances and generous leave entitlements.
