How do I apply?
Application details will be provided on this site when we announce our next International Recruitment opportunity. There is no intention in the short term to re-open applications. Please do not contact this office for information on when we intend to recommence the programme.
Selection Process
Once your application has been approved, you will need to go through the following selection process:
- An integrity check - a background check performed to identify any criminal offences and traffic infringements.
-
An Entrance Evaluation - to test your literacy and numeracy skills
as well as your practical intelligence. Sample questions and an answer sheet are available to help. Once you have completed the Sample questions
you can review your results.
-
Fitness Test - includes a beep test (shuttle run), push-pull machine to test
ability to crowd control and a sit-up in a specified manner.
Download the audio file beep test for your mp3 player. Measure
out 20 m placing markers at the start and end of this distance. Listen
to the audio file to start the beep test.
For more information download a Physical Evaluation.
Should you need assistance in preparing for the Physical Evaluation, you can download
a document containing general guidelines.
-
A panel interview - A short formal interview before a panel
of 2-3 senior officers will be required for short-listed applicants.
-
An information session on policing in WA and others matters
will be provided during any overseas recruitment drive conducted by WA Police.
- A psychological evaluation - All applicants will be required to undergo a standardised personality inventory. Further follow up and interviews may be required.
-
A medical check - prior to final acceptance and after the
completion of the other assessments, the applicant is required
to attend a nominated medical physician and undergo a medical
examination. This examination is designed to ensure that fitness
and health are of a high standard and that there is no reason why
the applicant cannot carry out all the duties required as a police
officer.
